Assisted Communication Intern:
Help someone at one of our day programs become more familiar in using their assisted communication device in a day-to-day setting.
Bilingual Outreach Intern:
Intern in our outreach office helping people who speak Spanish get support for someone in their family with a developmental disability. Must be fluent in Spanish and English.
Direct Support Intern:
Intern at one of our day program locations and work directly with people with developmental disabilities. Give one-on-one life skills training that can help a person become more integrated and independent in the community.
HR Intern:
Must be a college senior and enrolled in the internship class. Must also be an HR major and be available on a set schedule during normal working hours.
IT Intern:
Assist our IT Department with all aspects of organizational technology systems. Various duties assigned.
Web/Social Networking Intern:
Assist in development of new e-tools for The Arc. Expand use of e-bulletin board feature. Research and develop further use Facebook page(s) and/or Twitter page(s) for various programs and services. Train and promote internal capacity and usage of e-tools. Edit video footage for web and social networks. Help with SEO and website development.
Public Policy Intern:
The Arc Baltimore is seeking 1-2 interns (preferably political science students) to plan, coordinate, and conduct outreach for small gatherings in five, state legislative districts with Arc Baltimore constituents and elected officials. Students would work with Arc staff to determine location, invitation list, outreach methods, and to coordinate the five events. In addition to the event itself, a strategy would be developed to build participants’ comfort in the legislative process and to bring them into the Advocacy Network so as to be prepared to contact legislators as needed in the 2012 General Assembly.
Foster Care Marketing Intern:
Student will work with the foster care dept. for The Arc Baltimore to help find new people to become foster care parents for children with disabilities. Outreach to specific communities, find resources and local connections to advertise this opportunity.
